LYNN - Georgia
By April of this year, Parkinsons disease had progressed so
much in my body that I had difficulty walking, steps were
almost impossible, and I could not take care of my children or
my home. The side effects of the medications for this
incurable disease were terrible. But one wonderful day God
revealed that He would heal me, although I did not know how or
when. On April 30, my church family prayed for me, and the
next morning I felt different. By the next day, I definitely
felt better. As another day passed, I could hardly contain my
excitement because I continued to improve. But I was so afraid
that I would raise false hopes with my family, so I prayed
earnestly and asked God if He was healing me now or if He
would heal me another time. Immediately after this prayer, I
decided to read my GodToday devotion. The verse and half that
came across my screen answered my question in an amazing way -
Isaiah 43:18,19a. I fell to my knees thanking God for healing
me. I was able to share with others what God was doing. The
change in my life was incredible. I am not longer taking any
medications for Parkinsons disease, and I was able to go
horseback riding and water skiing this summer. As I read these
same verses in today's devotion, I wept with the memory of
that day. Thank you for allowing God to work through you as He
did for me on that day.

I just read Joyce Walton's testimony and I feel the same way
about our Lord, Jesus. She touched my heart because I too went
through many things where God has come through for me. God is so
faithful and He is always there for us, ready to listen to what
we have to say. He is never too busy for his children. I start
out my day with praising God too, and often praise him and thank
him as the day goes on. I talk to him a lot. One thing I love to
do is pray for others and I have a prayer chain I head in our
Sunday school class. We need more prayer in the world. A few of
the things He did for me are:
I didn't really have a dad for long, as he died when I was three
years old. I did have a step dad for almost a year, but then he
died of a heart attack. When I accepted the Lord years later, it
was such a wonderful & freeing experience, and now I finally had
a father I could talk to and to look over me and take care of
me. That was 22 years ago.
Soon after I accepted Jesus as Lord into my life, I heard about
healing on the radio, one day when I was getting ready for work.
I thought to myself, I never heard this before, but why not ask.
So I knelt by my bed and asked God to heal me. This was
difficult for me, as I had Rheumatoid Arthritis for almost 24
years, especially in my knees & hips, and generally
all over. I can't explain the feeling that came over me, but I
just knew that I knew that God had healed me and I stopped
taking all of medication, which was quite a lot.
While my husband Bill and I were out to dinner a few months
later, he said to me, " I notice you aren't ordering a drink
with your meals anymore." I responded, "You know I never thought
of it, but God has healed me of drinking too. Praise His holy
Name! Hallelujah!" It was a problem I was trying to get over. I
went to my counselor and told him I didn't need to see him
anymore. When he asked me why not, I simply told him that I
accepted Jesus as Lord into my life and He healed me. Of course
he gave me a funny look and said I should continue counseling
anyway. However, I insisted I would not be coming back to see
him again, and I never did.
A while later Bill and I moved to another state. One of the
first things I did was to go to a Rheumatologist for a checkup.
He examined me and asked why I was there. I told he about my
history of rheumatoid arthritis and he said to me, "You know, I
wouldn't have believed you even had arthritis except for that
big scar you have on your knee from surgery. You sure don't have
any now." I responded, "Praise the Lord! He healed me." He just
gave me one of those looks that said, "Yeah right." I never went
back to see him either.
Now that I am older I have osteoarthritis, which is not quite as
painful as the R.A. and can be treated with one medication. I
also have developed spinal stenosis, which is a painful
shortening of the spine. I have asked God to heal them both, but
He hasn't done so, yet. So I just keep praising Him daily
anyway, for He is a great, compassionate, wonderful, gentle,
loving, faithful, all powerful, wise and all knowing God. Only
He knows what is best for us. I feel that all these things have
contributed to my compassionate feelings to pray for others who
suffer from even more difficult and more painful diseases. If we
just look around there is always someone else who is hurting
more than we are.
He has changed my life so completely, I can never thank him
enough for what He has done for me. I have a wonderful husband
who helps me out a lot, and is a real blessing to me. I praise
God for him. And God has helped me to do things I never thought
I could do. He has helped me to draw, to write songs and poetry,
to sing in churches at times, play an autoharp, do my own cards
on the computer, and teach Sunday school along with a host of
other things, as well as increasing my confidence. He is more
wonderful than any words could ever express.
I too hope and pray for many others to come to know Jesus as
Lord in their lives. I have family members that I have been
praying for over 22 years for, and I will continue to pray for
them. When people tell me that they prayed for a situation, or a
person, because that was all they could do, I always tell them,
"Prayer is the best and most powerful thing we can do. Use it
often."
May you continue to reach more and more people with your
inspirational website. Praise God that we have this privilege of
having websites that encourage and inspire people. God bless you
most abundantly for your faithfulness.

I thank God for what he has done for me and my family. As a
military spouse he has bless me to see places I had only
dreamed of seeing. God has showed me that he is always with me
no matter where I am. The love of God is beautiful and most me
shared with those we come in contact with. Thank you for your
inspirational message of letting us know that God truly
cares for his children. I would love to bless you and your
readers with poem I wrote called Celebration. He has blessed
me to be a blessing to others. Thank you and may God continue
to bless what you are doing.

Karen Thomas -Jamaica
I just want to say that I enjoy reading God Today each day.
Sometimes it is as if the words are speaking directly to the
situation in my life at the time. God is awesome. He has just
been there every step of my life when things seem so
impossible. I have been through financial frustrations, almost
lost my home, relationship disappointments, feelings of
hopelessness, low self esteem etc. But God gives us hope. His
love and understanding is ever present if only we believe. I
can say I believe and though I have a far way to go
spiritually I know things will be better if we have faith and
trust in him. He gives us no more than we can bear. I just
thank God for loving us just as we are.

Today's passage about faith was very timely for me. I was just
in my yard sharing my poppy field (planted by God) with a
Christian friend. Last year at this same time, I was dealing
with a faith issue. I bought a copy of Eugene Peterson's, The
Message, in which he has translated the parable of the mustard
seed to the parable of the poppy seed. I was really broken
when I realized that the parallel of my faith needing to be
strengthened and the field of poppies He had planted as a gift
for me. I love the photo you selected for this particular
passage.

I am so blessed by the daily emails you send me at work
here in Kenya and God bless you Big time. It is such an
encouragement to read the bible in the morning when I get to
work and receive a short blessed sermon at the same time. Here
in Kenya Nairobi i have informed my friends about you
wonderful people God bless and thank you.

I just wanted to say, I thank God for your ministry. I
have a coworker who sends the daily devotions to me everyday
and I just can not wait to receive them. If she takes too long
sending it, I will go to the website myself. Each one I
receive really touches me. As I always say to my coworker
"they really hit the spot". God is truly using you and your
words of inspiration are making changes in my life and as well
as my coworkers. Thank you again and I look forwarding to
receiving more of the word through your ministry. GOD BLESS
YOU
Christina Harley - Philadelphia
My name is Christine and I am a child of God's. I want to
share with you how nothing is impossible for God. I was a drug
addict for 12 years of my life. I experienced allot of things
in those 12 years that should have killed me over and over
again. People thought there was no hope for me. By the time I
was 19 years old I was strung out on drugs. I had a praying
mother and grandmother who may have given up on me, but they
did not give up on God. When I turned 24 I came to the end of
my road with drugs. Six months later, my grandmother died. I
truly believe she held on long enough to see the salvation of
the Lord. I have been clean from all drugs for almost nine
years now. I want to share this with those who are struggling
with loved ones who are on drugs. Don't stop praying. Please
know that God is able! I am living proof of this. I give God
all the glory in my life today and encourage others who think
they cannot stay clean off drugs. God is able to keep you!
Believe in his word. He loves you and so do I. If you need a
friend please feel free to e-mail me at christinag1014@aol.com
God Bless

I want you to know...that through a
recent life changing experience of giving up my home party
business after 7 years so I could stand up for human life and
the unborn...(company was just purchased by Warren Buffett)
(the king of support for Planned Parenthood) ...
...I was at one moment with my heavy heart thinking what would
people think...and within 5 minutes of thinking this and then
reading my daily scripture from you...your words from March
31st or April 1st..(I am not sure if it was late and I was
reading the next days scripture)...the scripture was 2 Timothy
1:7 ....your words exactly were "when we hear a voice
whispering WHAT WILL EVERYONE THINK?" know that this voice is
not of the one who told us "fear not".... by the way ...as if
God isn't AWESOME enough...that is my favorite scripture...it
is hard not to cry thinking of it still... the things God has
done for me lately are so AWESOME....and your devotion that
particular day of the decision making, was very much a major
part of the entire deal....and I have told so many about your
devotion that day and how God gave you the words that I needed
to hear EXACTLY and within such a short moment of time...I
pray that my testimony will encourage others...
May God richly bless you for what you have done and are doing
for so many people...touching lives daily... I pray that I can
be an encouragement like that one day.... (I feel God calling
me to speak to others someday) You have blessed
me...Thank you.
