In Retrospect
Author: Nell Berry 9/29/01

It will take a long time for the pain to end.

How can we go on, or begin to live again?

Some things begun were suddenly stopped.

Sept. 11th  brought many things to a halt.

How can we forget the horror of losing them?

Why did this happen? Where is my friend?

Where is the hope for a better tomorrow?

Where was God in all of this, did He create
this sorrow? There was no time to say all we
needed to say. Too many lives were destroyed
that day. Too many unanswered questions are
asked. How can we find solace and finish the task?

Our hearts are breaking. Our eyes burn with tears,

Is anyone listening, can they quiet our fears?

If God didn’t do it, can you tell us who did?

Who in the world wanted to murder our kids?

Who could imagine the things that were done?

Only men filled with evil, as they murdered God’s
Son. God didn’t do it. He’s the God who cares.

He was there when it happened, but no guilt
does He share. Just ask Him to come and give you
relief, He will come and share in your grief.

He wants to heal your broken heart.

It hurts Him to see so many lives torn apart.

God’s grace is sufficient, He says in His word.

So, humble yourselves and put your trust in the Lord.
