me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I
will not be brought under the power of any.
1 Corinthians 6:12
Living under grace instead of the law affords us the freedom to make
choices. Wisdom is crucial to our ability to make the right choices.
Without divine wisdom and direction from God concerning our decisions we
can find ourselves making wrong choices and justifying them. Our freedom
to choose does not always bring freedom. It’s easy to become obsessed with
our careers, our homes, churches, even the things we do for fun and
relaxation, to the point that we no longer possess the freedom in those
things but instead they possess us. To truly enjoy and experience freedom
in Christ we desperately need to seek divine wisdom in making good choices
and maintaining a balance in all things.
Prayer
We thank you Lord for the freedom we have received. Give us wisdom and
direction to make the right choices. Help us to make priorities according
to the things you desire, that we may truly enjoy the freedom you have
given, so that what we possess does not possess us. Help us to find a
perfect balance in all the things that we do. In Jesus name, Amen.
