Ground Zero Revisited
By Nell Berry 9/11/03
We have seen first hand, the results of hate we see.
We know, from experience the effect of animosity.
On 9/11 we witnessed the devastation and grief,
of those who lost loved ones, whose sorrow is beyond belief.
We can’t forget the horror, our hearts still break with the loss.
The lives that have been shattered,
we cannot even count the cost.
The seeds of hate have been planted and are being planted still,
by those who hate what America stands for
and desire to exert their will.
Lord help us to plant seeds of love,
seeds of kindness, joy and peace.
By Your precious Holy Spirit, let seeds of harmony increase.
Help us plant seeds of compassion, growing a garden of flowers,
watered by so many tears, cultivated through lonely hours.
Let the silence be a blessing, let solitude be a friend.
Comfort hearts that are breaking,
hearts that slowly will mend.
