Deep Water

By

I had a dream just the other night About standing by a mighty river bed I needed to cross to the other side But I was afraid of all the water up ahead.

The Lord was standing on the other side With His arms outstretched to me Bidding me to trust Him and come across Even though the river's depth, I could not see.

How deep is the water Lord? Please answer me, I really need to know! Will I be able to walk safely through Or be swept beneath the surface below?

How long is this trial before me going to last? It stretches itself out like a mighty river rushing by Threatening to sweep me under into the darkness below Destroying all hope of ever crossing to the other side.

I see You with Your hands outstretched to me And Your Eyes are telling me that it's safe to come But Lord, You know that I'm so very weak right now I'm scared I'll get sucked under and come undone.

As I stood there pondering just what I was going to do I remembered what the Bible says in Isaiah 43:2 "When you pass through the waters I will be with you and When you pass through the rivers they will not sweep over you!"

My trust is in You, Lord, You won't lead me astray Though these waters may be deep, I will obey If I keep my eyes on You I will not sink below You'll see me through my troubles each and every day.

This dream showed me that trials are but mere tests Designed by Your hand to bring me closer to You Thank You for Your promises, I don't need to be afraid No matter how deep the water gets, together we'll go through!
