God Today Devotions

And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."
Joshua 24:15

Freedom allows for tolerance; for people to live together in peace and to choose to believe, or not to believe in God, or to make a choice to worship and believe in any god they choose. We are too easily offended at anyone who does not have an understanding of the truth as we may. The Spirit of the One and only True and Living God, is the only One who can ultimately bring anyone to the understanding and knowledge of the truth. Our focus needs to remain on God. Our responsibilities are to seek Him, asking for wisdom and the words of truth to speak, trust in His sovereignty, seek His face and His will, and share what we have received from Him. If it is rejected, it is not our personal responsibility to keep shoving it down the throats of those who are spitting it out. It is God who will woo them with His Spirit and it is ultimately their choice to grasp it, or throw it away. God absolutely loves the entire world, for it is His creation and He has given the world the freedom through Christ to choose.

Prayer

Lord, give us wisdom and the words that will speak to the hearts of those who do not believe. Draw their hearts to you Jesus; opening their eyes to truth. Your sacrifice was not for just a few, but for all. The world is Your creation, and Your love extends across it. We seek Your face today, and make a choice to follow and serve you, surrendering our lives to You. Give us wisdom and guidance as we share Your truth with all. Amen.
