If you keep My commandments, you will
abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments, and
abide in His love. These things I have spoken to you so that My joy
may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.
John 15:10-11.
There are those who have great knowledge of the Bible, yet their
relationship with the author is secondary. We can read all about
Him, learning of facts, being able to site places, dates, figures,
statistics, and memorizing scripture and verse. As great as it is to
know the facts, if we don’t read the word in the Presence of God,
allowing the Holy Spirit to lead us and make those words come alive,
in our hearts and in our lives, we will miss the true treasure
embedded within it. It is more than reading what God wants us to do,
but hearing the voice of God the Father whisper to our hearts,
awakening our souls to truth and satisfying a desire deep within us
to know Him personally. It is the knowledge of His truth, which
enables us to obey His commands, allowing us to experience the love,
peace, and joy in His presence.
Prayer
We long to hear Your voice. We desire to know You, not simply about
You. Give us a living faith that will touch Your heart.
Allow Your word to come alive within us, and overflow, from every
part of our being. In Jesus name, Amen.
