For now we see in a mirror,
dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know
just as I also am known.
1 Corinthians 13:12
In what seemed apparent defeat, Jesus came and gave His life for the
ransom of the world. How difficult it must have been for those
witnessing His persecution, and agonizing death on the cross, to ever
believe that it was purposed this way. Surely they must have thought
something had gone terribly wrong. The truth is that everything was
absolutely right. When we are faced with what appears to be hopeless
situations, we can take comfort knowing that He is working through every
circumstance, intertwining them together to accomplish His will and
purpose in our lives, and the lives of others. We have given Him our
lives, and He is using them to send light that destroys the darkness. He
asks us to be willing to trust Him for the end result. To know beyond
all doubt, that He is in control of all things, and what we see is not
the end, but simply a part of the process.
Prayer
Lord, You are so in control of all things. Forgive us for not trusting
and losing faith when things appear hopeless. When things don’t seem
just or right, remind us that we are in Your service and the picture is
much larger than we now can see or understand. We surrender ourselves to
You completely. Give us the courage and the strength to continue to do
Your will, In Jesus name, Amen.
