And
Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and
miracles among the people.
Acts 6:8
Having
faith in something greater than ourselves, gives us the
ability to continue pressing on regardless of how tired,
hurt or afraid, we may feel, or how uncertain the future may
appear. Our hope and faith in God, is greater than anything
that affects our lives. Stephen had performed great miracles
among the people. Instead of realizing that God was speaking
truth through Stephen, they argued with him. When his words
could not rationally be disputed, no doubt because they
pierced their souls, they proceeded to accuse him of being a
criminal and spreading lies. They were afraid of the truth
that he possessed. He wanted so much to share Truth from the
Spirit of God, which was evident, and gave him joyful hope,
even in the midst of facing death. God provides us with all
the faith required for us to keep pressing on. When life’s
uncertainties overwhelm you, have faith in Your God who is
greater than all.
Prayer
Increase
our faith and sustain us with Your Spirit, enabling us to
face any situation with confidence and joy. Let our lives
reflect an active faith, filled with hope and promise. In
Jesus name, Amen.
