He that
believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly
shall flow rivers of living water.
John 7:38
We
carelessly allow our hearts to become entangled with fear and
doubt. When we digest a steady diet of fear, it grows and only
pessimism remains. It’s not content to consume one heart,
but spreads it's disease like an epidemic infecting many,
leaving behind the sour and bitter taste of hopelessness. The
restoration of hope within our hearts is found in Jesus
Christ. He fills us with sweet living water that overtakes the
bitter and satisfies our souls. It becomes a swollen river,
which overflows from within us, so that others may drink and
be satisfied as well.
Prayer
Our
souls have become thirsty and dry for the sweet taste of
living water. We seek your face today Lord, flood our hearts,
washing away all traces of fear and doubt. Let us overflow
from within, spreading to others. Forgive us for allowing our
hearts to become infected. You are our hope; we praise You,
our Savior and our God. Amen
