God Today Devotions 
April 1, 2003 

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
2 Timothy 1:7

It is time for us to break free from the bondage of fear. It is all too easy for us to become intimidated and fearful, when we are listening to the voice of our enemy. Satan is the master of using our fears to stifle us in the heat of the battle. Our battle is not against flesh and blood, but it is spiritual, and God has provided and equipped us with all that we need for the battle. We need to stop allowing Satan to torment us with our own fears. When we hear a voice reminding us of our past, or whispering "what will everyone think?" or "you will certainly fail", we know that voice is not the voice of the one who has told us "fear not". A line has been drawn in the sand, and we need to wake up and cross it, and step into enemy territory without fear, and fully dressed in the Armor of God, ready to win. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love, 1st John 4:18. If we will simply trust in God and have faith in His ability, He will provide the power and the victory. In the presence of His perfect love, our fears will cease.

Prayer

We thank You Lord, that you are aware of Satan's tactics. We will not fear, but trust in Your protective love. You give us strength to face any circumstance with joy. Your presence calms our hearts and causes all fear to cease. Thank You for Your faithfulness to us! Amen.
