God Today Devotions 
March 20, 2003

Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
Psalm 139:23-24

We aren’t always aware of how our actions grieve the heart of God. We may not even think twice about some of the things we say and do, and how they have, and will affect others. Unless we bother to take some time evaluating our hearts, as well as our day, before addressing God in prayer, we may never even realize we have offended. Regardless of the extent we have offended, there is no reason for us to hesitate approaching God. He is loving, full of mercy and always willing to forgive once we confess.

Prayer

We come before you today in need of your mercy. Forgive us for our careless words and attitudes. Create in us clean hearts so that our attitudes and actions will align with your character and your word. In Jesus name we ask. Amen.
