But seek first the kingdom of God and His
righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Matthew 6:33
Our human nature longs for God. We need to know
Him. However all too often we are content to seek no further than
our needs. We seek Him for what He can give, rather than for who
He is. We go to Church, hear His word, read a short chapter from
the Bible, and say a prayer before the end of the day, thanking
Him as we leave our future requests. There is so much more to God
than what we seek. We seek for things, answers, etc. If we will in
earnest, seek God with all our hearts, being eager to obey, we
will discover more than we could ever imagine. He takes pleasure
in those who seek Him laying aside the comfort of their own
souls, and simply allowing Him to be their heart’s desire.
Prayer
We seek Your face Lord. You are our heart’s
desire. Forgive us for being content to simply stand at the door,
instead of walking through. We desire to be in Your presence. Help
us to lay aside our own desires, and seek Yours. In Jesus name we
ask. Amen.
