But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God has chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things, which are mighty. 1 Corinthians 1:27

Life is competitive with plenty of contenders racing to accomplish great thing and be first to the top. Many arrive at what they believe to be their goal only to find that it lacks the gratification they thought they would find. God does not seek the criteria that man seeks. He has the ability to take the nobody, lacking education, wealth, and social status, and make them a somebody. Throughout the Bible we read how He used a Shepherd, a Prostitute, a Pharisee, Tax Collector, and a Fisherman, just to name a few. God's criteria is much different than the world's. He does not ask for a perfect resume but a willing heart that will trust in Him. There is no flesh that will glory, it is completely evident that the work accomplished could only be accredited to God. Regardless of our past God has a future and if we are willing to say "Here I am, use me, I make my life available to you", He will accomplish great things and fulfill His great purpose in our lives.

Prayer

Lord send us, our hearts are willing to follow wherever you desire to take us. We thank you for the grace and mercy you have extended to us. In the eyes of this world we may be nobody but in you Jesus we are somebody. Accomplish your will and purpose for our lives. We give you alone all the praise and the glory. Amen.
