Yet a time is
coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the
Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the
Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in
spirit and in truth.
John 4:23-24
Worship
invades our soul with the presence of God. Everyone does not respond
to the presence of God in the same way. Some tremble and fall on
their face before Him; others may cry, some are overjoyed, many
cannot refrain from singing, shouting, and dancing, while some may
sit in silence. True worship is birthed in our hearts. It is not
important how we respond to His presence, but that we do respond. It
is so easy for us to set boundaries for others and ourselves
concerning worship. We worry about our self-image and what others
will think. When we are engaged in true worship of the Father our
minds, hearts and souls are turned toward heaven, nothing else
compares or takes precedence. It is a time for us to be true and
honest before God and to ourselves. What sweet communion we share
with our Lord. It is far more than a casual experience or a weekly
ritual, and it exceeds beyond all else, to the deepest valleys of
our souls.
Prayer
Lord you are
Holy. We worship you in spirit and in truth. Help us to put aside
the distractions and opinions of others, as we come before you just
as we are. You are our focus; we stand in awe at the works of your
hands. You are good Lord; there is none that compares to you. We
thank you for allowing us to come into your presence, and for
satisfying our thirsty souls. Amen.
