God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present
help in trouble. Psalm 46:1
Strong winds may be beginning to blow, as a
fierce storm approaches over the horizon. We are not left to
weather the storm alone. We have a shelter under the wings of
Almighty God, a safe and secure place, where perfect love dwells
and peace abounds. Our enemy whispers certain doom, and lies of
how this storm will overtake us. Our God is a good God, and He
will not break the covenant He has made with His children. He
takes pleasure in caring for us. So even as we know the storms
will come, we can also know that they always pass, leaving behind
vivid colors and a beautiful aroma. We can rejoice with our God,
knowing that we will be safe with Him in our midst, as we place
our hope in the beauty that follows the rain.
Prayer
Lord we run under Your shelter when the storm
begins to approach. Quiet our fears with Your love, keep us safe
and secure under Your wings. We will not acknowledge the lies of
our enemy of certain doom; we are trusting in Your goodness.
Overtake us in the midst of the storm with waves of Your mercy and
grace. In Your perfect love we will abound. In Jesus name Amen.
