God Today Devotions
January 23, 2003

Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thy heart.
Psalm 37:4

It is very important for us to have dreams, a vision for our future. When we do not have something to reach for, a goal in mind, or a purpose, it is easy to lose hope and become depressed and discouraged. It certainly hinders us fulfilling what God desires and has planned for our lives. God has created each one of us with a dream or vision planted within us. If that dream is ever going to become a reality, we must be able to grasp it, and believe in our hearts that God can and will make it happen. Satan does all he can through the course of our lives, to get us off track so to speak and looking in many directions, leading us nowhere, and leaving us empty. God has designed each of us for a purpose. Whether it is great or small when we take pleasure in Him, and He is our source of happiness, and joy. He leads us to fulfill those dreams in our lives. It is never too late to take hold of those dreams, for us to get back on track with the plans God has designed just for us. It is on the path God has laid out for us, where we find peace and hope and contentment for life. We find that His desires become our desires and He causes them to be fulfilled in us.

Prayer

Lord we surrender our lives to you today. Allow your desires to become our desires. Whatever you desire for our life is good and perfect. You give us hope and you are our source for true happiness. Make our dreams come true and fulfill the vision you have purposed for our lives. Amen.
