And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.  Acts 6:8

Our lives express our beliefs more clearly than our words. Our faith, or lack of it, is evident in the way we live and react to life and all of its changes and circumstances. Our faith causes us to trust in Almighty God, who gives us comfort and peace, and the strength to face each new day. We can know that He is concerned with our welfare, and is involved in even the minute details of our lives. It is a faith that is greater than what we see and feel. Stephen had that faith, understanding that there was much more than what he was witnessing on this Earth. His faith could see past what he was feeling and seeing, to what he knew to be real and lasting. He had confidence in the truth he was speaking. Those in the synagogue that day, attempted to dispute the truth, it pierced their souls and made them uncomfortable. Instead of receiving the message, they blocked the messenger. Stephen’s faith was evident and greater than the threat he faced. While we may not be facing such a severe challenge of our faith as Stephen, whatever we face today, regardless of how tired, hurt, afraid or uncertain we are, our faith in our God will be evident through the words of truth we speak; our actions and reactions.

Prayer

Lord you are greater than any circumstance we face. Your perfect love sustains us. Enable us to face each day and each situation with the same faith that Stephen had. We desire our faith to be evident in our lives, regardless of how we feel and what we see. You are our truth, and our reality. Our faith in You gives us life. We give you praise for the great things you have done! Amen.
