Rescue me, O Lord, from evil men; protect me from men of violence, who devise evil plans in their hearts and stir up war every day. Psalm 140:1-3

Evil exists, whether we acknowledge its existence or not. The world has more than its share of people who make it their mission in life to destroy others. As children of God we have no reason to fear them. God is our representative, who sees all, knows all and will deliver us from any plan that is plotted against us. It is tempting for us to desire to take matters into our own hands and deal with it as we see fit. But God says to us that our weapons are not of this world, nor do we seek revenge, attempting to justify ourselves. Our battles are never truly won this way. The best fighting we can do is on our knees. Surrendering to the greatest Authority, is always our best defense. The battle is God’s. We are His and He will never let us down, or let us be overcome by the plans of wicked people. It is our place to love our enemies and pray for them.

Prayer

We come to you today trusting that you will go before us, and fight against our enemies. You know their hearts, and their plans. We look to you for our help. We bring our enemies before you today and ask, that you will bless them and transform their hearts. Fill our hearts overflowing with your love and goodness. We praise you for the great things you have done and are about to do. In Jesus name we ask. Amen.
