God Today Devotions 
December 6, 2002 

Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire. 
Hebrews 12:28-29

Our lives can change quickly. What once gave us stability and security can be pulled out from under us in a moment's time. The security and stability we have in Jesus Christ, can never be removed. He plants within our hearts a never fading treasure. Nothing can remove it from the secure place where He has placed it. The stock market can fail, wars can break out, and business's can close their doors, yet we remain secure in Him. We can take comfort and rejoice knowing that change in circumstance's that surround us in this short breath of life are not permanent, what remains when all else is gone is what makes us secure and is where our real treasure lies. Our God is unchangeable. 

Prayer 

We give you thanks and praise for being our stability. You are our treasure. If everything in this world falls apart tomorrow, we have no need to fear. The only true loss we would suffer would be to lose you. Thank you that nothing can remove the treasure you have planted within our hearts. We rejoice today, knowing that your love and comfort surround us always. We worship and praise your Holy name! Amen.
