Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife; and they shall be one flesh. Genesis 2:24

Marriages and families are becoming endangered species. There are so many losing and leaving, never having the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of the marriage union. It is a bond and covenant, between a man, a woman, and God. It can be wonderful or miserable, depending on the degree of commitment of the couple, to building it God's way, and according to His principals. God created marriage, and it is perfect, contrary to popular belief. Couples split up for many reasons, most trivial, as well as typical. They somehow feel as if they are the only ones in the world who feel as they do. Actually millions each day feel and unfortunately act on those same feelings. When they hit a rough place that requires a little work, they choose to avoid it and bail out. It is a temporary fix that devastates lives. Inevitably they will encounter the same problems with the next relationship, simply because they were never addressed. Marriages are grown by commitment, sacrifice, love, forsaking all others, and giving of oneself totally to our mate. We don't fit our partners into our life, they are our lives. Couples that have been married for years, will often finish one another's sentence's. It is a result of years of sharing feelings, emotions, fears, and dreams. Marriage requires commitment, the same kind of commitment we make in our relationship to God. Whether our marriages are strong and thriving, or weak and failing, there is always room for improvement, and a hope through God, that it will always get better.

Prayer

I ask you to strengthen and restore marriages today. Give us the wisdom to walk in your example Lord; and to realize the importance of marriage, and to commit ourselves totally to it. Enable us to make our marriages everything you have created them to be. Amen.
