Never say never. We can say I will never allow that to happen to me, or I would never fall into a trap like that, thinking we are not vulnerable. Our human hearts can be deceptive, and cause us to over-estimate our spiritual strength, and under-estimate our weakness. If we lose sight of the source of our strength, Jesus Christ, we are prone to fall into the same traps. Pleasing God, and serving Him, does not come naturally to our flesh. It resists the things of God, and is weak. We have no reason to brag about our spirituality, it is only because of Whose arm we are leaning on, that we don't fall. We can brag that we know Him, that we understand all that we are, and will be, is because of His power, His strength, and His ability.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, we are aware, that we can accomplish nothing, apart from you. Remind us that we are vulnerable. When we feel we are standing strong, remind us that we are vulnerable, and dependent. Give us compassion and wisdom, pour out your love in our hearts.  All that we are, all that we hope to be, is because of you. Thank you. Amen.
