If anyone wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me."
Mark 8:34

At one time or the other, in one way or the other, we all encounter pride. Pride is all about "Me". Our perception becomes distorted, when our primary focus is on ourselves. Jesus taught us that in dying to ourselves, we would become alive. In giving, we will receive. In humbling ourselves, we will be lifted up. The greatest is the least. Many of these principals go against most popular teachings today. Self awareness, self motivation etc. It's not all about "us". It's not about if we give, we will receive more, or if we do everything right, we will be promoted. We have to set our ego aside and make a choice, to pick up our cross and follow Jesus. What may appear to cost us so much now, will reap for us eternal and lasting treasure.

Prayer

Lord create in my heart a willingness to serve, You are the One that I seek to please. We give our lives to you completely, to create and use as you please. Forgive us for allowing ourselves to get in the way, enable us today, to lay aside our ego and follow your perfect plan. Thank you for the opportunity to serve. Amen.
