Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament. And those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever.
Daniel 12:3

People all over the world, are seeking spiritual direction and hoping to find love and acceptance. Their hunger is so intense, they will grab a hold of anything, in an attempt to fill the empty place within their souls. Some try to grab hold of religion, others embrace false religions, which make them feel as if they are a part of something special and that they belong. There is an empty place in the world, which we as Christians are, in part responsible for allowing to exist. Of course, it is not intentional, but because of our lack of responsiveness to the needs of those who are hurting, our apathy, and lack of interest in anything that is not confined within the walls of our religion or our Churches. With our pointing fingers, we have pointed many to false religions, all the while holding truth in our hands. It is time to wake up and step outside of our own world and into the real world, courageously reaching out and embracing them with the love and truth of Jesus Christ.

Prayer

I ask that you forgive me for my laziness, and lack of concern, for all those whom you love. Forgive me for turning my back and making judgments, instead of sharing the truth and love of You. Let my life glisten with a reflection of your image. Enable me to leave the comfortable places and to embrace the hurting, the rejected, and the lost who are seeking acceptance, forgiveness and love, that they will only find in You. Holy Spirit, consume my heart and life. Amen.
