Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.
1 Peter 5:8

We can’t expect to win a war, if we can’t even recognize the danger. Usually we wait until our enemy is upon us, before we become ready to take action. The enemy is a always on the prowl, looking for an open door, seeking out a weak, or broken link, where he is able to break through and wreak havoc. He doesn’t take weekends off, or vacations, he is a constant threat. We can’t afford to carelessly sit by and wait for the attack. We need to be aware of the danger and be prepared to divert the enemy before he is able to strike. All that we do, we are to do in love; that love cannot diminish in the midst of the battle. Our weapons are not traditional and we don’t fight according to the principals of this world. We have the ability and the resources of God, made available to us to, withstand the attacks of the enemy. (Ephesians 6:10) During the heat of the battle, when those fiery darts are flying in every direction, it is our faith in Jesus Christ that extinguishes them. It is not a question of how capable we are, but in whose ability we are trusting, and to whom we belong. It is the power of the Holy Spirit, that is able to cut through the utter darkness and destroy the plans of the enemy. It is up to us to be aware and be prepared and following God each step of the way.

Prayer

Lord Jesus make us aware of the schemes of the enemy. Give us wisdom to discern. We are completely trusting in your ability. Prepare us for the battles that lie ahead and give us wisdom to discern and divert the attacks of the enemy. Amen.
