Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.
Psalm 34:19

We don’t often see the opportunity in the midst of adversity. We look at the situations and circumstances we face in a negative light, instead of seeing them as an opportunity to grasp hold of wisdom and truth and enter into the great things that God has planned for us. God is not the cause of bad situations, but is instead, our source as we endure them. He brings relief and comfort as well as the power and ability to conquer the circumstance. We may think of them as failures or setbacks, but if we will grasp them, instead of run from them ,we will learn and grow from them. How can we learn to be patient, if there is nothing to be patient about? We may be anxious to have the negative situations quickly removed from our lives, but God is more interested in our development during the circumstance, than how soon it will be behind us. No one is exempt from suffering and pain in this life. It comes to all of us at one time or another. We don’t grow to spiritual maturity through a book. It comes as a result, of facing and seizing, every opportunity as an invitation, to grow and mature in the truth of Jesus Christ. Through every circumstance, we are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus. (Romans 8:37)

Prayer

Lord, when the difficult times come in our lives, we look to you for wisdom and truth. We depend upon your strength and ability to see us through. What appears to be a failure, or setback, is but another opportunity for us to be corrected, taught, and to grow more like you. Take the situation we face today and turn it around and bring good from it. Help us to recognize the opportunity, that lies in the midst of our adversity. In Jesus name we ask and believe. Amen.
