God Today Devotions
For he satisfies
the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with goodness. Many today feel lost. Life is good. Success seems to abound and yet there are so many who feel lost and empty. All the "things" we seek do not seem to satisfy. Our society today is richer than it has ever been; we spend billions on entertainment, leisure and pleasure attempting to fill an empty place in our soul. There is a place in each and every person that is reserved for God, and nothing can take it’s place. If we allow Jesus to come into our lives and fill that empty space that we so desperately try to fill with counterfeits, we will discover that all we have been searching for in vain, has been right there all the time, waiting for our acceptance. Jesus has been waiting to satisfy our soul and fill us with his goodness. We don't have to try to be good enough to earn it. It is there and it is ours for the accepting. Jesus said in John 10: 10 " I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." Until we taste of Jesus, we will never be full and we will always be searching. The world and all it's finest possessions, will continue to take from us and leave us empty. Nothing can satisfy that place in our soul but Jesus. Prayer You are all that
satisfies, Jesus. My soul has searched and has found peace and
contentment in you. Make my life a beacon of truth and let your Spirit
shine from it. Give me a heart full of compassion for the lost and the
