Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.
Hebrews 2:18

We have all failed and fall short. At one time or the other, temptation has come knocking and we have opened the door. Jesus understands our weakness and He faced the same challenges and temptations as we do today, yet He did not give way to sin. When we have failed to resist temptation and become overwhelmed with guilt, depression, and hopelessness, we need not give up, because Jesus gives us hope. We can run to Him confessing and we will find mercy, restoration, and forgiveness. God can deal with our mistakes and failures as long as we are willing to deal with them. He never abandons us; He is always on our side. It’s not our humanity that irritates Him, only when we attempt to cover it up. Our failures are never greater than the grace and mercy of our God.

Prayer

We come before you today broken. We won’t give up or cover up. We have failed You and we ask for forgiveness and restoration. Mend us and make us stronger. Thank you for showing us mercy and giving us hope. Amen.
