Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain
James 5:7

We exist in a world where there is strife, injustice, suffering, heartaches, sickness, and oppression. It sure does not paint a pretty picture. For those who have no other hope than what they see here on this earth it emits certain doom and gloom and leaves them with a sense of emptiness. For those who believe on Jesus Christ and His promises it is quite a different story. We have been given hope for a better life, a perfect world where perfect love resides. When the tragedies of life in this world hit us our hope remains in tact. Our hearts still are broken, our pain is real, and oppression and injustice still transpire. But our hope exceeds beyond the circumstances we see and experience. Our hope in the promises of Jesus speaks to our hearts that one day oppression will come to an end, and suffering at the hands of others will be over, and we will live in the light of His pure love, forever in His presence and forever singing His praises. Jesus will return and things will certainly change; all that has been wrong He will make right. Every knee will bow and declare that He is Lord. Not fiction, or legend but fact. He is the beginning and the end. His promises are true and our hope that we have placed in His promise will sustain us as we wait for that day.

Prayer

We come into your presence today with joy in our hearts and full of hope. Hope in your promises; hope that assures us we will see you face-to-face and live in the midst of your perfect love throughout all eternity. A place where hearts don't break, evil doesn't exist and peace and love reigns. With faith and patience we wait for that glorious day. Amen.
