And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Matthew 16:15

God forgive us, for all the things we do in the name of Jesus Christ, that are anything but Christ like.  Is it possible that we have forgotten or forsaken our roots?  The gospels were written by trailblazers, armed with passion and the truth and love of Jesus Christ.  They did more than give God lip service.  When their lives were on the line, they continued.  They did not compromise the truth, because the truth cannot be compromised.  Their concern was not with all that was wrong but with sharing the truth they knew and believed with all their heart and soul.  Their focus was on sharing the love they had come to know with all who would listen and at every opportunity.  They had confidence in their God and what they believed.  There was no need for them to work at appearing Holy, it was apparent from their lives, that the One and Only True and Holy, Righteous and living God, dwelled within them.  They were beacons of light to all who saw them and heard their words of hope and truth.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten  Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
Christianity is not an exclusive club to be shared only with those who meet our criteria.  God loves all the world.  He sent His Son for all.  We are all sinners and the advantage we have as Christians, is that we have believed and received the grace and mercy of God.  The only thing Holy and Righteous about us, is Jesus Christ living in us. The only changes that have been made in our lives, are because He has made them and continues to create us to be perfect, holy, righteous, and acceptable to Him.   Maybe a glance back in time and some reflection of what our lives consisted of before we came to know Jesus Christ would be in order.   As we have received so we should give.  We have an obligation to share the truth we have been shown to all.  We can't force anyone to accept the message of truth; it is a personal choice for each one to make.  Each one of us will stand before God and we will not be required to give an account for what everyone else has or has not done, but we will be required to give account for our choices and what we did, or did not do, with what we have been given.

Prayer

Father forgive us for our attitudes of self-righteousness.  For thinking somehow that we have arrived and we are better than another. You sent your Son Jesus for all, from the most elite to the most despicable.  You love them all and desire them to know you.  Restore a fire and passion in our souls that we may live our lives with you as our focus, that we would not hide the light within us but share it with all those who desperately need to hear your words of truth and hope.  The brokenhearted, the sick, the hurting.  I remember where you brought me from and I am forever in your service.  Send me; use me; live through me. Amen.
