"A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity."
Proverbs 17:17

True friends are few and far between. When you find one you've found a treasure, someone who will be there through the good, the bad, and the ugly parts of your life. It is important for us to be a good friend as well. Too much of the time we destroy our wounded, we kick them when they are down and we judge them instead of helping them at the very times they need the most. John 13:34 " A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another." When we see a need and we have the ability and resources to help but we don't, how can we say that the love of God lives within us? We are instructed to love; with the love of God and it doesn't make a difference if that person is a believer in Jesus Christ or not, we still have an obligation to share the Love of God that lives within us. God has certainly loved us at our  most unlovable. We all hurt and we all run into problems in our lives.  A little love and compassion goes a long way. We all need true friends and we need to be true friends; displaying God's love in good times as well as the bad.

Prayer

Thank you Jesus for being a loyal friend and loving me at my worst. Help me to be that kind of a friend to all who I meet. Allow your love to flow through me to those who need to receive it. Forgive me when I have passed judgment on someone instead of lending a hand. Allow my life to display your love; and let me not abandon anyone in need. Amen.
