God Today Devotions
My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. There are times when our lives seem so very ordinary. Sometimes the hopes and dreams we had when we were young seem to fade away in the midst of our responsibilities and daily obligations. Maybe we come to the realization that we won't be rich and famous or President but that certainly does not disqualify us from being used to accomplish great things for God. Our future is still very bright and there are new frontiers and adventures that lie ahead of us. We can choose to sulk about what we feel we have missed or we can choose to step out with God and begin looking to Him for our future. He longs to take us to new places. If we will be teachable we will begin to see that as He brings us to maturity we can certainly keep looking to God with childlike expectation. Prayer Help us when we become discouraged and feel as though the best of our life has passed us by. Help us to see the future bright and to expect great things from you. Show us the new frontiers and adventures that still remain ahead of us. Teach us Lord to follow Your ways and to grow and mature to be exactly what you want. Help us to keep our eyes wide open and to expect the new things you desire to bring to our lives. Amen.
