The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, " Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and "sinners"  But wisdom is proved right by her actions."
Matthew 11:19

There is a difference in being intolerant of sin and intolerant of people. The latter we should steer clear of.  Jesus was never afraid to associate with anyone even those he knew were of questionable character.  He was criticized by the Scribes and Pharisees for being willing to reach out and talk to anyone whether they were rich or poor, thieves, or prostitutes.   His disciples were even at times concerned about the people he was seen with in public.   His love and compassion was not confined to just a few but displayed towards all. Too often we are afraid to reach out and share truth with those in need of it the most. There is a difference between compromise and compassion. Compromise we don't, compassion and mercy should be reflected in all that we do.
"Beware lest we mistake our prejudices for our convictions" Dr. Harry Ironside.

Prayer

Give me your strength and wisdom Lord to stand strong in You and Your word.  Let me not be afraid or compromise but allow your love, compassion and mercy show towards all that I meet. Amen.
