There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear.
1 John 4:18

We may think we are strong and unbreakable but there are times we are still prone to fears of one kind or the other. Fear comes in many different forms and it is unhealthy for our souls. We will certainly sink if we allow it to overtake us. When Jesus walked out on the water to the disciples, instead of recognizing Him they were overtaken with fear and their imaginations ran wild. When Jesus said to Peter "come", Peter walked on the water, He did not sink because His eyes were on Jesus, not the huge waves, not the fierce winds, or the rocking of the boat. His eyes were focused on the eyes of perfect love. When he took his eyes off of that perfect love (Jesus) He sank. Doubt crept in and robbed him of His faith. We are like Peter sometimes we hear Jesus say come, we step out and we begin to walk on the water, but when we look away from perfect love to the intense storm that surrounds us we sink back into those same fears and allow the winds of the world and circumstances to rob us of our faith.

Prayer

There is no fear when I am walking with you Jesus in your perfect love. I will not be bound by the spirit of fear for you have given me the spirit of power and of love, and a sound mind. My eyes are fixed on you, my trust is in you, my faith is in you. Amen
