God Today Devotions For thou art my rock and my
fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me. Imagine walking with Jesus on a beautiful day with the sun shining and the path you are traveling on is a joyful one. Sounds easy enough and we are certainly willing enough to walk this kind of road with Him. But what if it begins to rain and the thunder roars and lightning flashes across the sky? Suddenly the path seems dangerous and unpleasant we can no longer see clearly and we begin to lose sight of the promise waiting at the end of our journey. We may want to retreat or attempt to find an easier more pleasant path, but if we ever hope to attain the goal and receive the promise we will continue on the path we are being led all the while holding on to His steady hand and allowing Him to walk before us. The rain does not last forever and we will feel the warmth of the sun again. Anywhere we are with Jesus as our guide we will always make it through. Prayer I surrender to you and ask you to be my guide. I know when I am in your presence no matter what the circumstances or conditions surrounding me I am safe and secure. Wherever this path leads as long as I am with you I am satisfied. Make my feet to remain steady when the path seems shaky. I need your strength and wisdom to continue on this journey. I know you will see me through. Thank you for your faithfulness. Amen.
