My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure; I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.
Isaiah 46:10-11

There are moments when most of us have doubted God and His promises. It seems the evidence surrounding us is insurmountable. It grieves our spirits but it is certainly not something we like to admit or to share with others. I wonder why, if God knows, who is there to hide it from? We can only maintain a pretence for so long. God loves us and is understanding and patient with our human nature, as we should be with one another. He doesn't get mad at our humanity only when we attempt to cover it up. Where we fail He restores us. When we are in doubt He reassures us. We don't see the picture the way He sees it or understand the vastness of His ways. His plans consist of more than just our lives, they are woven together into the lives of many others. He knows the exact and perfect time to bring them all together to accomplish His perfect plan. What may seem insignificant to us can have a great impact to someone else. Sometimes we have to wait on His promise, but we need never doubt that He will finish it exactly the way He has intended it to be. Like a child trusts in His parents so we should trust in God. Instead of kicking and screaming and throwing a fit when things don't go the way we think they should, we need to remember God is God and His way is always the perfect way.

Prayer

You are faithful to your word and all your promises are true. I may not always see and understand your timing and your ways but I do trust that you love me and always have the best for me and for others foremost in your mind. Forgive me for the times I doubted your word because of circumstances. Give me patience to wait for your completed work. Amen.
