s For what
profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself
destroyed or lost? Success according to God and success according to man are entirely different. There are millions of seminars, and workshops, videos and books explaining the key to success. Most all are centered on, money, power, and position. God sees things a little different. The intellectual would pick someone with talent, ability and even possibly great looks to fill an important position. God however does things His way. He takes the least likely and instills in them the ability and talent they need to accomplish great things. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty. 1 Corinthians 1:27 He doesn't require a degree only a willing and surrendered heart. He does the rest. He takes the weak and makes them strong and the poor and makes them rich. Sure maybe not in the eyes of men, but rich and strong nonetheless. We can work all of our lives for material possessions and obtain the "ideal image" but find we have neglected the deeper and truer things in life. We quite possibly will find at the end of our rainbow that we have compromised character and integrity for that "ideal image". It is much easier to look good than to do good. Many choose to take the path of least resistance and follow after the image only to find themselves after many wasted years, empty with nothing to show for it. Prayer I desire success in your eyes. Examine my thoughts and my motives. You are my treasure and my goal. Better is one moment in your presence than a thousand moments anywhere else. Forgive me for placing so much value on things that will fade away and are meaningless. Give me the strength and the courage to follow after the things that count, those things that will make a difference, and most of all the things that will please you. Amen.
