God Today Devotions  April 5, 2002 And I will pray the Father, and
he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever. The Holy Spirit is a distinct person. When Jesus left to go to the Father He did not leave us alone. When I really let that sink in, I mean really sink deep down in my spirit, that the Spirit of God has come to live within me, I am more than overwhelmed and amazed. Who am I to deserve such an honor? That is the real beauty of it; I don't deserve it and I don't need to be anybody special to receive it. I am so grateful that He gives me His comfort and support. That he is my advocate when I am being accused. He is my friend my companion, my counselor and my protector. He guides every decision I make. He makes me aware of my sin. He is the one whom I can trust with my deepest thoughts and emotions. He teaches me all things. If you feel as though everyone has abandoned you and you are standing alone, remember today that the Spirit of the one and only living God has taken up residence with you and every detail concerning you is special to Him. He will never walk out on you. Prayer Thank you Holy Spirit for living within me for being all that I need and never leaving me alone. Make me aware today of your presence; strengthen me and guide me and help me to keep your principles in my heart and life. Amen
