"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
Proverbs 9:10

Wisdom is the ability to discern the things that are true and right. If we desire a deeper understanding of God we need to be willing to submit totally to Him. The fear of God is not about hiding at the sound of His voice, and expecting that if we mess up He is going to pound us. Fearing God is standing in awe of Him and understanding who He is and who we are. It is standing in the presence of Almighty God with a reverence and wonder and a feeling that words cannot begin to describe. As we grow spiritually we receive glimpses of His Character, His goodness, His love, as well as His anger. All of these experiences combine and nurture our spiritual growth. The fear of the Lord turns us away from what will harm us and cause us to understand that God is kind as well as just. God is reality. He invites us into that reality. The first step to entering in is a willingness to acknowledge His majesty and submit to His authority. He will not fail us, or give up on us but instead finish the work He has begun in us. The more we release and trust the more we will understand and grow.

Prayer

You are awesome God! Thank you for inviting me into your presence, I desire to understand Your truth. I release my life into your hands and I trust you to perfect your love in me. Amen.
