Surely you desire truth in the inner parts; you teach me wisdom in the inmost place.
Psalm 51:6

We don’t always give God an opportunity to work in the situations in our lives. We complain about our relationships, or another person and refuse to let go of it long enough for God to get His hands on it. We react in the natural, and the solution is spiritual. Inevitably each time I complain to God about someone else, He directs me to the mirror, compelling me to evaluate myself, causing me to see my own shortcomings and bad attitudes. If we will receive His wise instruction and allow Him to make changes within our own hearts, we will see the situation in our relationship with others change. It can’t help but change, when we are acting and reacting to the other person with the love of God, while God deals with their heart and motives. It’s so tempting and “natural” for us to want to handle the situation ourselves by complaining, nagging, or getting angry, but we will eventually discover, it resolves nothing. If we will submit to God and His authority and seek His wisdom in all things, (relationships included) we will see Him do great and mighty things in the midst of them.

Prayer

Thank You for forcing me to the mirror, when I complain about others, causing me to see the changes needed within my own heart. I place the difficult relationship I am facing in Your hands, and ask that You give me wisdom to receive Your instruction. Help me to act in love always. I trust You with all of my problems and that includes problems within my relationships with others. Amen.
