Peter was therefore kept in prison but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the Church.
Acts 12:5

Throughout history there has always been opposition to God and His work. Yet, each account reveals that the will of God could not be stopped. We may feel helpless concerning the injustice, and devastating events that take place in our world; yet we are anything but helpless. The power of prayer is huge. We have the privilege and ability to interact personally with the creator of all things, concerning all things whether our own personal problems, the needs of a friend and neighbor, or those that stretch across the globe. There is no limit to the power of prayer; Earnest prayer that seeks God’s perfect will in all things; continual prayer that doesn’t give up; prayer that believes the answer will come knocking on the door. There is no need for us to be intimidated by opposition to the work of God. He is always victorious. He has given us an avenue and opportunity to be active participants in it all.

Prayer

It is a privilege and honor to come before You today; You are the creator and administrator of all things. I thank you for the ability to come to You personally. I earnestly seek Your will. Increase my faith, open my heart that I may see through Your loving eyes, and may understand the depth and power in prayer, whether for a friend, a nation, a young child hurting on the other side of the world, or myself. I know that You hear each word, and I believe the answer will come knocking on the door as Your perfect will is accomplished. Amen.
