The eyes of all look expectantly to You, and You give them their food in due season. You open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing.
Psalm 145: 15-16

The bitter winter months can take their toll on us and leave us desperately longing for the spring. Even with our grumbling and complaining, there is nothing we can do to speed up the process. We wait, anticipating the budding of the flowers and trees, the beautiful singing of the birds, green grass, and warm breezes. Our lives change in much the same way. There are seasons that cause us to grow weary and we long for better days. Sometimes it is difficult to see past the present to the warmth of a new day. Changes occur all throughout our lives, and at times may seem very threatening. We can be secure in knowing, God does not change. His love and character has remained the same throughout the ages. If we will embrace today, regardless of the season, with a hope and anticipation of what is to come, we will remain secure through the bitter and unsettling times.

Prayer

I look to You Lord, through the unsettling times in my life, knowing that they will pass, giving way to warmer and brighter days. Strengthen my heart and open my eyes, to the hope that lies ahead and the joy of what is to come. I place my trust in your unfailing, unchanging love; resting secure in the knowledge that You are the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Amen.
