We are hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.
2 Corinthians 4:8-9

Sometimes adversity seems to be a constant companion. It can cause us to begin to feel the trouble we are facing is never ending. It’s not easy, to look past the current circumstance and see the lasting benefits, born in the midst of the incredibly painful times in our lives. We see instead, shattered dreams; a broken trust; a lonely life; tears instead of laughter and a future that does not seem so very bright. If we could for a moment, take our eyes off the situation and instead look through the eyes of hope, to see that in the midst of it all, God is performing some of His best work ever. We will find comfort, as His hands embrace us, and begin to discover true joy and peace in the center of it all. We will see that the pain and heartbreak do not serve to destroy, but to strengthen our faith, build great character and cause us to become firmly rooted. There is not one of us that have all the answers, but we can certainly trust in the One who does. God is loving and good, all the time. He doesn’t make mistakes and He is never unkind.

Prayer

I place complete trust in You today. I don’t see, I don’t understand and know why. I can’t even imagine good coming from such pain, but I choose to trust that You are in control of even the smallest detail and that I remain safe in Your loving hands. I trust in Your infinite wisdom and care. I thank You for your unconditional, never ending love that constantly renews my spirit and gives me hope. Amen.
