Blessed are the
meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
Matthew 5:5
This scripture may lead many to believe, that meekness means weakness.
Nothing could be further from the truth. When we are weak, Christ’s
strength increases within us. Being meek is allowing God to harness our
ability by submitting to His authority. In all things, not simply the
things we choose. It allows God to deposit precious treasure purchased
for us by Christ, within our lives. Eternal treasures, that see us
through the rough places, enabling us to bear up under insult and
persecution; give a soft answer in exchange for harsh words; love the
unlovable and always be available as an extension of His forgiveness,
patience, kindness, compassion, mercy and love to our fellow man. That
is true power and strength.
Prayer
We come before You with submissive hearts, seeking You and desiring to
be transformed. We are glad that in our weakness, through Your Son Jesus
Christ, we have been made strong. Deposit Your precious and immeasurable
treasures within our hearts, that we may be a continual extension of You
to the world, in Jesus name we ask, Amen.
