This is the day
the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24
It doesn’t matter how busy our day is, we need to take time to slow down
enough, so that we can enjoy the simple pleasures, often missed by
rushing through our day. Our schedules don’t have to be so jam packed
with events, we don’t have time for anything else. There is a time for
everything, a time to work and let’s not forget a time to play. It is an
essential and necessary part of our day. If we don’t slow down for a
moment, we will end up missing the wonderful blessings God has
surrounded us with, simply because we are too exhausted to notice them.
It is important to work hard, but equally important to take the time to
rest and enjoy the benefits of that work. Once the day is passed, we
can’t relive it. Set aside time today, regardless of how chaotic your
schedule may be, and laugh, play, rest and simply embrace and enjoy this
wonderful day our God has given us.
Prayer
We commit the day to You Jesus. Help us to slow down and to take the
time, to enjoy all the many blessings and joys You placed in our day.
Life apart from You, is not life at all. Today we rest in your hope and
enjoy your blessings, Thank You. Amen.
