But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Matthew 6:33

Sometimes our prayers are like a giant wish list. We greet God with a quick hello, and on to our petitions and requests. God understands perfectly, all that we need. He knows before we ask. He loves to bless our lives with good things. Yet we can’t allow ourselves to simply seek the blessings of God, without first seeking Him, His ways and character. He enjoys the time we spend simply being with Him. He has already provided so much for us, and the very least we can do, is spend time getting to know Him more. When the relationship between God and us is strong, His desires will become what we desire, and we will see them fulfilled within our lives.

Prayer

I choose to give all that I am and hope to be, to you Lord. I long to know You more and to spend time just being in Your presence. Give me wisdom to understand Your heart and Your ways. I praise You for all of the many blessings in my life. You have been so good to me. You are the treasure that my soul seeks. Thank You. Amen.
