The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, " Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners," But wisdom is proved right by her actions.
Matthew 11:19

We must turn away from wickedness, evil and wrongdoing. But many times in turning away we become quite intolerant of people. Jesus was never afraid to associate with anyone, even those he knew were of questionable character, or that their attitudes were not right. He was criticized by the Scribes and Pharisees for being willing to reach out and talk to anyone whether they were rich or poor, thieves, or prostitutes. Even His disciples worried about some of the people he was seen with in public. Jesus reached out to all and showed love and compassion. He was strong and secure in his belief and confident in God.
Fear can cause us to be unable to reach out to those most in need of what we have to offer because we are afraid and not secure and confident in what we believe and in the power of our God. Jesus overcame the world. With Him there is no reason for us to fear. Jesus was able to determine the difference between compromise and compassion. Compromise He did not. Compassion and mercy he showed to all He came in contact with. He has set an example for us and asked us to do what He did. Luke 10:37. He came to set the captive free and to save those who are lost, our hearts should be the same. Luke 19:10 " For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which is lost."

Prayer

Give me your strength and wisdom Lord to stand strong in You and Your word. Let me not be afraid or compromise but allow your love, compassion and mercy show towards all that I meet. I can do all things with you Jesus.

Amen.
