God Today Devotions  March 6, 2002 Do you think the work of harvesting will not begin
until the summer ends four months from now? Look around you! Vast fields
are ripening all around us and are ready now for the harvest. We may not always be aware of it or hear it proclaimed as the latest breaking news story, but the Holy Spirit is moving mightily in hearts and lives not only in America but around the world. We have a wonderful opportunity to share Jesus Christ with all. Hearts are yearning for something real, something secure and eternal, something that gives them hope in a time when things seem hopeless. We personally know the source of that hope. The careless neglect and exclusion of God and values in society has left a void. An empty place that the Holy Spirit is ready to fill with truth; truth that will heal and set free. Many ask are we living in the last day? I believe that we are. Regardless of when Jesus returns I know one thing I want to be found in His field, with my hands in the dirt, working for the harvest. Harvest time is a busy time and for a limited time. Prayer The work of the harvest must be done; send me Lord my
heart yearns to work your fields, I want you to return to find me
busy working for things eternal. Equip me Holy Spirit with your wisdom,
and word of truth. You have saved me and set me free, you have mended my
broken heart, you have redeemed and restored my life by your grace, you
have comforted me Holy Spirit and I pray you use me to share that same
unconditional love to those who are searching. Let all those who are
searching find hope, rest, peace, joy, contentment, acceptance, security
and unconditional love in You. Reveal the reality of who you are to their
hearts. Amen.
