For the LORD corrects those he loves, just as a
father corrects a child in whom he delights.
Proverbs 3:12
We are children of God and heirs to His kingdom. God teaches us, directs
us, and also corrects us. The child who is corrected is the child who is
loved. As parents we know how beneficial discipline is in our children's
lives. They need to realize there is right and wrong and the difference
between the truth and a lie. God loves His children and when we
are walking off the path and into harms way His loving hand will correct
us and guide us back to the place we need be. God is not a bully nor
does He browbeat and intimidate us, He does as a good parent would their child
and reveals to us our error and teaches us the right way; which is of
course His way. Our heavenly Father is good always, which may be hard
for many to perceive as the may not have had the benefit of good parents
or parents at all for that matter. If we will choose to accept and
submit instead of rebel against His
correction we will continue to learn and to grow spiritually healthy. It
is not healthy spiritually or otherwise for us to continue to make
excuses for our actions but seek to change them through Jesus
Christ.
Prayer
You are a kind and loving Father and I thank you for teaching me, and
correcting me. You are greater than my faults. I submit to you and your
choices and desire to follow the path you have paved with love and set
before me. You hand of correction is not always pleasant but always
beneficial. Thank you for loving me enough to show me when I am wrong.
Amen.
