Casting all your care upon him; for he cares for you.
1 Peter 5:7

We would never be able to carry around all the material possessions we have come to acquire in our lifetime. It would be impossible. Yet this is what we do with our emotions when we just won't let go of yesterday's mistakes and hurts. And to add to an already heavy load we will take on the worries of tomorrow. God does not desire for us to carry such a heavy load. Jesus said in Matthew 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. He wants us to hand it all over to him. He desires to fill us with joy and happiness. When we follow the paths that He lays out we can find it. But when we insist on carrying it ourselves, we lose that joy and happiness and that peace that passes all understanding. The joy and peace that Jesus gives does not rely on our past or our future, it is available today for us to experience. Give Jesus your cares and be determined that today you will let go of the past and the worry and the fear and live today. Don't worry about tomorrow or yesterday. Matthew 6:34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Prayer

I place my past in your hands, there is nothing I can do today to change it, and I may not know what tomorrow holds but I do know that I can trust you with it. Strengthen my soul with your joy, surround me with your peace. My past and my future are both in your hands. Thank you Jesus. Amen.
